Houston Thom first entered the financial services industry in 2018 after finding the career path to be the perfect combination of working in financial markets while being able to help individuals navigate their lives within them. Houston is a graduate from George Fox University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and served as a captain of the baseball team.
Houston's passion for the financial industry extends beyond mere numbers; it lies in his ability to simplify complex financial concepts and empower clients with the knowledge to make informed decisions that align with their personal goals. Whether navigating market volatility or exploring investment opportunities, Houston's approach centers on understanding his clients' unique needs and guiding them towards life outcomes that mater most to them and their families.
Before joining Iron Mountain Wealth Management, Houston worked in portfolio management where he was a lead on investment research, portfolio construction, and trading within the firm. During that period, he attained his Accredited Portfolio Management Advisor™ designation and passed CFA® Level 1.
Outside of work you’ll often find Houston and his wife, Tina, heading out to explore with their two dogs, spending time in Corvallis catching a Beaver baseball game, enjoying all the Northwest food scene has to offer, or over the mountain with family at Lake Billy Chinook.
